EVN Bulgaria Elektrosnabdiavane EAD (EVN Elektrosnabdiavane) is solely owned by the Austrian energy company EVN AG. We are the licensed end supplier of electricity in Southeast Bulgaria, a territory of nearly 42,000 sq. km. For 14 years, we have been supplying energy and related services to over 1.5 million customers in the districts of Burgas, Kardzhali, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Sliven, Smolyan, Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Yambol.
Following the liberalisation of the electricity market in Bulgaria in 2013, our licence was amended and supplemented with the rights and obligations of a Supplier of Last Resort (SLR) and a coordinator of special balancing groups. Because we are dedicated to our customers, we decided that it was also important to use our expertise to support them in the switch from a regulated to a free market. So since October 2017, we have been operating as an electricity supplier on the free market, for which we have a licence issued by the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission.
